The RS Hosts the KU-KOC Collaboration Agreement Extension Event

Under the patronage and with the attendance of Prof. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, Acting Kuwait University President, Dr. Naser Al-Tannak, Acting Vice President for Research, held the extension event of the collaboration agreement concluded between Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company, on Thursday 18/7/2024, in the University Council Hall, Sabah Al-Salem University City, Shaddadiya.

The event was attended by Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for Research Finance and Implementation, and Prof. Khaled Al-Hazza'a, Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum. Meanwhile, Kuwait Oil Company was represented by Hamad Al- Za'abi, Director of the Innovation and Technology Group, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Head of the R & D Programs Team, and Maryam Al-Foudary, Senior Research Programs Engineer.

The event was held with the aim of extending the five-year research collaboration agreement signed by KU and KOC in 2019 and resulted in five ongoing projects and one completed project. The agreement has been extended for an additional two years.

Mr. Al-Za'abi talked about the KU-KOC scientific and research cooperation process and its importance for both parties.  On his part, Prof. Al-Mutairi expressed KU's pride in collaborating with KOC, stressing the need of exchanging expertise and resources among leading scientific and research institutions in the State of Kuwait.
