Good news for researchers

Within the framework of its sustained efforts to provide high-quality services to KU's researchers, the Research Sector was able to obtain the University Council's approval to amend the second clause of Article (14) of the Rules & Regulations of the Research Support System regarding compensating researchers for the publication costs of funded and unfunded scientific papers with a maximum amount of KD 1,000.

For scientific colleges, the journal in which the paper is published must be listed in the Journal Citation Report JCR (ISI Web of Knowledge, regardless its classification). Whereas for humanities and social sciences colleges, the journal must be listed in the Journal Citation Report JCR (ISI Web of Knowledge, regardless its classification) or in Scopus database with an impact factor higher than 50%.

This procedure represents a major milestone in the interest of KU's researchers, as the RS strived to achieve it to encourage researchers publish their research outputs in top-ranking international refereed journals, improving institutional ranking and attaining world-class stature.
