RS received a visiting delegation from Peking university, China

Within the framework of the research Sector’s efforts to enhance research collaboration and build bridges of cooperation and partnership with research centers and universities around the world, Prof. Jasem Yousuf Al-Kandari, Vice President for Research, received a delegation from Peking University on Tuesday, Sep. 17,2019, along with his assistants Prof. Yousuf Garashi, Prof. Haider Behbehani, and Prof. Laila Marouf. The delegation consisted of Prof. Tian Gang, Vice President of Peking University, Prof. Fu Zhiming, Vice Dean, School of Foreign languages, Prof. Zheng Zhijie, Director, Department of Global Health, School of Public Health, Dr. Gu Xue, Assistant Director, Office of International Relations, Mrs. Li Donglin, Institute Manager, Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research, and Mrs. Yang Yang, Program Coordinator, Division for Exchange Programs, Office of International Relations, Peking University.

The two sides discussed aspects of joint collaboration between the two universities in several areas, most notably students exchange through scholarships, in addition to scientific and research cooperation between faculty members in both institutions in various issues such as energy and petroleum, medical challenges, social and administrative sciences issues, and many other areas of mutual interests. 

A memorandum of understanding between the two universities was discussed, in addition to planning for a meeting between the delegation and the Deans of concerned faculties during their next visit.

The delegation was briefed on the volume of scientific research in Kuwait University, and the vital role of the Research Sector in supporting researchers from faculty members and graduate students, besides discussing the role played by Kuwait University in addressing issues and challenges related to Oil industry through agreements with the Oil sector.

At the end of the visit, the delegation was honored and souvenirs were distributed.
