RS Holds Scientific Poster Day for Humanities and Scientific Faculties for the Academic Year 2019/2020 on Sunday 20 September 2020

Despite what the country and the whole world are going through in the face of Covid-19 virus, RS was committed to holding its annual Scientific Poster Day event for humanities and scientific faculties along with Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), in recognition of researcher’s efforts and their scientific and research achievements. Due to RS commitment to adhere to health standards to ensure the safety of Kuwait University members, the Scientific Poster Day event for this year was held in a different form in implementation of social distancing. RS uploaded all participating posters in this year’s event on a unified electronic link on Sunday 20 September 2020 to evaluate researchers and those who are interested to view the posters to discuss their content with the participating researchers via their personal e-mails.

The sum of participating scientific posters from humanities and social sciences faculties at this year’s event accumulated to a total of 61 scientific posters, divided between the faculties of Education, College of Business Administration, Law, Sharia and Islamic Studies, and Social Sciences. As for the scientific faculties, the sum of their participating posters accumulated to a total of 91 scientific posters, in addition to KISR’s annual participation, which was a total of 26 scientific posters for this year. The participating posters where from the faculties of Architecture, Engineering and Petroleum, Life Sciences, and Science. 

This electronic link initiative represents RS commitment to the continuation of its events and activities whenever deemed possible, without compromising the requirements specified by the country’s health authorities. It is a procedure through which the sector projects its awareness of its role towards distinguishing the scientific and research achievements of researchers at Kuwait University, and presenting them to a wide audience of those who are interested in the latest developments of scientific research at Kuwait University.

Researchers from faculty members, teaching assistants, and graduate students took part in the event, alongside researchers from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), where the participating posters have been reviewed by a committee of experts and specialists assigned by RS to evaluate this year’s scientific posters and choose the best posters to be nominated for the awards presented annually by RS in each participating category in order to encourage researchers to compete in achieving scientific excellence in their research endeavors. The winners of this year’s best scientific posters in each category will be soon announced.

And on 8 – 9 November 2020, under the patronage of Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi – Vice President for Research, and in the presence of Dr. Salman Al-Sabah – Assistant Vice President for Research Collaboration and Consultation, the winners of the Scientific Poster Day for the academic year 2019/2020 both Humanities and Scientific faculties, as well as Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), under three categories: faulty members, academic support members, and graduate students. Dr. Salman Al-Sabah honored the winners in the Institutional Innovation Hall at the Presidential Building, wishing them further success and excellence. The winners as folowing:
