The RS Organized an Orientation Session for New Academic Faculty Members Who Received Research Initiation Grants

The Research Sector organized an orientation session for the new academic faculty members who recently received Research Initiation Grants, on Monday 12/2/2024, at the RS conference room. The Research Initiation Grant is one of the grants provided by the Research Sector to encourage the newly appointed academic faculty members in the various departments of KU's colleges.

Opening the session, Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development, welcomed the new academic faculty members and emphasized on scientific research as the cornerstone for building a successful academic career, stressing on pursuing the research journey early without any delay. The Research Sector comes into play to provide the necessary support represented in the research grants and other services and facilities to initiate a distinguished scientific and research career based on solid foundations.

This year witnessed 17 new academic faculty members from different KU's colleges receiving Research Initiation Grants.

The orientation session is intended to provide a detailed description of the executive procedures and practical steps related to disbursing the Research Initiation Grant. The Heads of the Accounting and Research Development Departments answered all inquiries related to research grants, budget, reports, and other matters of interest to new researchers.
