The RS, Represented by the Office of External Research Collaboration and Consultation, Organizes a workshop entitled: "Advanced Structural Equation Modeling"

Under the Patronage of Acting Vice President for Research, Prof. Othman Al-Khudir, The Office of External Research Collaboration and Consultation at the Office of Vice president for Research organized a workshop entitled "Advanced Structural Equation Modeling" for Kuwait University affiliates, which was presented by Prof. Hisham Gad Al-Rab from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The workshop aims to model structural equations (Structural Equation Modeling SEM), which is considered one of the advanced statistical tools used to examine and analyze complex relationships between multiple variables in scientific research in order to understand their effect on each other.

Structural equations modeling is also an expansion of the slope analysis using virtual buildings (Latent Variables). Therefore, it can be used to test theories and complex hypotheses. It can also be used in a variety of fields, including social, psychological and human sciences, as well as in medical research and economic and natural sciences.

The workshop focused on the importance of this strong tool in helping researchers understand complex phenomena and relationships between variables better, which enables them to make enlightened decisions and develop scientific theories.

Throughout the workshop, a practical explanation was provided on how to create mathematical models which classify the potential relationships between variables, and the direct and indirect effects between them using AMOS program. The lecturer also taught the participants how to analyze the data to match the form based on a theoretical basis with the actual data, and determine the extent of suitability between the two.

On this occasion, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, explained that the Research Sector seeks though this workshop to support young researchers and encourage them to achieve research of scientific value and high quality, which will undoubtedly enhance the scientific status of Kuwait University.
