Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis & Development, Participates in the New Faculty Orientation Session

Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis & Development participated in the New Faculty Orientation Session organized by the Office of Vice President for Scientific Afffairs. Prof. Al-Kandari encouraged the newly appointed Kuwaiti faculty members to build on the Research Initiation Grant (RIG) offered as an incentive for sustained progress towards achieving more advanced and comprehensive studies funded by the Research Sector. The RIG provides a befitting opportunity for new faculty members to learn about the grant application and financial procedures for research funding.  The RIG has a fixed duration of 12 months and a budget of KD 2000 limited to equipment, consumables and temporary manpower.

Prof. Al-Kandari said that the RIG application submission is open from October 1st to December 31st of each year. Wishing them success in their research endeavors, she urged all new Kuwaiti faculty members to visit the RS website and refer to Article (37), Chapter (13) of the Rules and Regulations of the Research Support System in order to gain further insights on the RIG projects. Researchers may also submit their RIG applications online through the Research Portal accessible from the RS website.
