"Kuwait Vision 2035: Technology, Creativity and Innovation"
Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, Announces the Third Scientific Research Conference and Poster Event
Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, revealed that the Research Sector is organizing the Third Scientific Research Conference and Poster Event for the academic year 2023/2024 entitled "Kuwait Vision 2035: Technology, Creativity and Innovation". The two-day conference set to be held under the patronage of Kuwait University's President and Vice President for Research will take place on February 19th and 20th, 2024 from 9 am - 4 pm at the Cultural Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The conference will involve the participation of KU's academic faculty members, teaching assistants and graduate students in addition to distinguished researchers from local research institutions with which Kuwait University has established joint research agreements such as Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the National Guard, Kuwait Oil Company, and the Environment Public Authority.
On her part, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra emphasized KU's commitment to support research interests and achieve scientific progress essential to promote research quality in line with Kuwait Vision 2035: technology, such as artificial intelligence, as well as creativity, innovation and sustainability. She further indicated that the Research Sector is keen to enhance aspects of scientific quality and originality across various disciplines, and in organizing the Third Scientific Research Conference and Poster Event, the RS aims to highlight the research achievements of KU's academic faculty members, teaching assistants and graduate students. Interested researchers are invited to apply online through the link below. Applications are accepted up until November 30th, 2023.
The annual holding of the Scientific Poster Day is aimed at encouraging researchers to display their scientific expertise and share their experience, research results and accomplishments with their colleagues, as well as inspire them to pursue their research interests, scientific ambitions and aspirations.
Monetary awards are given as incentives to the researchers whose posters win the top three positions in the following award categories:
- Academic Faculty Members: KD 1000:
- KD 500 first place.
- KD 300 second place.
- KD 200 third place.
- Assistant Academic Faculty Members: KD 800:
- KD 350 first place.
- KD 250 second place.
- KD 200 third place.
- Graduate Students: KD 600:
- KD 250 first place.
- KD 200 second place.
- KD 150 third place.
Hononary plaques are awarded to winning researchers in the top three positions in each award category, certificates of Appreciation are awarded to all participants and Names of Poster Winners in all award categories are announced and the abstracts of their award-winning research will be displayed on the RS and Kuwait University website, and Afaq journal.
