RS organized a Ceremonial Event for Research Awards Recipients for the Academic Year 2021-2022

Honoring Winners of Distinguished Researcher Award,

Best Young Researcher Award and Graduate Students Project Awards

The Office of Vice President for Research organized a special ceremonial event for the winners of the Research Awards for the academic year 2021/2022. Attended by Dr. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis & Development, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration & Consultation, and an elite of researchers, the ceremony took place on Monday, 15/11/2022 at the University Council Hall – Khaldiya Campus.

Starting off the ceremony, Dr. Noriah Al-Kandari welcomed the guests and congratulated the winning academic faculty members and graduate students for attaining these accomplishments, wishing them further excellence in the future.

Dr. Al-Kandari stressed that scientific research is the gateway to development of countries, and is considered a top priority and an integral pillar of development in all universities around the world. Moreover, she emphasized the fact that the winning projects address research areas of priority significance to the society and that the scientific and academic achievements of the winners shall immensely contribute to elevating KU’s international ranking and status.

She also added that today’s celebration reflects the research momentum across Kuwait University backed by the continuous efforts of the University Administration, represented by the Research Sector, in providing the appropriate infrastructural needs and funding support for all researchers.

Additionally, Dr. Al-Kandari thanked all members of the RS awards high committees appreciating their time and efforts in evaluating candidate proposals and short-listing the winners in all categories.

Concluding her speech, Dr. Al-Kandari wished that the research awards will constitute a great incentive to all researchers to take part in the institutional research endeavor.
