RS organizes a workshop on: “How to participate with a distinguished poster?”

Within the framework of OVPR’s research support activities, the Office of External Research Collaboration and Consultation held a workshop titled “How to participate with a distinguished poster?” for academic faculty members, assistant academic faculty members and graduate students. Presented by Dr. Ala’a Al-Obaid from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the workshop was held on Monday, 17/10/ 2022, at the Institutional Innovation Hall – Khaldiya Campus.

By organizing this workshop, the Research Sector aims at attracting largest numbers of participants in the Scientific Poster event and orienting researchers to participation procedures and posters designing process. Commenting on the event, Dr. Ala’a Al-Obaid said that the workshop discusses several themes like the definition of a scientific poster, history and types of posters, posters designing rules, process, and creative designing tips.

Dr. Al-Obaid added that the workshop is intended to give participants a clear understanding of scientific posters and how to avoid common designing mistakes, write accurate research abstracts, overcome presentation obstacles, and identify well-designed poster templates.

Meanwhile, Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, urged KU’s faculty members and students to engage in the upcoming Scientific Poster event to be held on 14-15/3/2023 during the Second Scientific Research Conference. The Poster event signifies RS efforts in bolstering high-quality research of scientific value among young researchers, as a step towards elevating Kuwait University’s international profile. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Al-Ghabra valued the efforts of Dr. Al-Obaid and presented her with an honorary plaque.
