RS Receives a Delegation from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)

A delegation from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) visited the Office of Vice President for Research (OVPR) on Monday, 31 January 2022, where they were received by Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi, Vice President for Research, along with his assistants Dr. Ali Al-Mutairi, Assistant Vice President for Research Finance and Implementation, and Dr. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development. The delegation included Ms. Haifa Al-Rashid and Eng. Hamad Al-Zaabi from KOC.

This visit comes as an extension to the agreement signed between the two parties in July 2019 over the span of five years regarding collaboration in the field of research and strategic development, as well as the field of reservoirs, heavy oil and natural gas.

The agreement is aimed towards research collaboration between Kuwait University (KU) and KOC through the transfer of technology and knowledge, the improvement of oil production and refining processes, and the development of industrial and technological processes through scientific research.

Prof. Al-Anezi also addressed the fact that it is upon KU to carry the responsibility of supporting research interests and achieving scientific advancement to elevate the research status in the service of the state of Kuwait. The University also welcomes KOC employees to join its Masters and PhD programs in accordance with the nature of their expertise due to the importance of Oil to the State of Kuwait, wishing for this collaboration to benefit the researchers at Kuwait University.
