RS Announces the Winners of the Scientific Research Awards for the Academic Year 2020/2021

Prof. Bader Al-Bidaiwy, Acting President of Kuwait University, approved the recommendations of the Higher Committee for Research Awards for the academic year 2020/2021. In his turn, Prof. Rashid Al-Anezi, Vice President for Research, congratulated the researchers on their achievement, wishing them further success in the future. He also wished those who did win to dedicate their efforts in future opportunities. Prof. Al-Anezi then announced the names of the winners as follows:

Winners of Distinguished Researcher Award in the field of Arts and Humanities for the academic year 2020/2021:

- Prof. Othman Adnan Al-Khuder – Department of Psychology – Faculty of Social Sciences.
- Dr. Abdullah Jawad Sultan – Department of Management and Marketing – College of Business Administration.
- Dr. Naif Nizal Al-Shammari – Department of Economics – College of Business Administration.

The Distinguished Researcher Award in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences was withheld due to the fact that the applicants did not meet the criteria for excellence.

The winners of the Best Young Researcher Award in the field of Arts and Humanities for the academic year 2020/2021 are as follows:

- Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra – Department of Mass Communication – Faculty of Arts.
- Dr. Aisha Ahmad Al-Azmi – Department of Educational Management – Faculty of Education.
- Dr. Mishari Abdulaziz Al-Nahidh – Department of Management and Marketing – College of Business Administration (repeated).

The winners of the Best Young Researcher Award in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences for the academic year 2020/2021 are as follows:

- Dr. Fatima Husain Al-Awadhi – Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry – Faculty of Pharmacy.

As for the Award of Research Excellence for graduate students – PhD holders for the academic year 2020/2021, the winners are:

- Ms. Noura Mishari Al-Mutairi – Department of Microbiology – Faculty of Medicine.

And the Award of Research Excellence for graduate students – Masters Holders was awarded as follows:

- Ms. Mariam Aabi Abti Don – Department of Chemistry – Faculty of Science.
- Ms. Shaimaa Ahmad Al-Kandari – Department Applied Pharmacology – Faculty of Pharmacy

The award for graduate student’s projects for PhD and Masters Holders for Humanities faculties was withheld due to the fact that the applicants did not meet the criteria for excellence.
