OVPR Organizes an Honoring Ceremony 

Under the patronage and presence of Prof. Hussain Al-Ansari, Kuwait University President, Prof. Jasem Yousuf Al-Kandari, Vice President for Research, hosted an honoring ceremony to honor his assistants on the occasion of completing their term: Prof. Yousuf Garashi, Assistant Vice President for Research Implementation and Finance, Prof. Haider Behbehani, Assistant Vice President for Research Analysis and Development, and Prof. Laila Marouf, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, in addition to a group of distinguished employees from various departments at the Office of the Vice President for Research. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Muthanna Al-Refaie, Secretary General of Kuwait University, and Prof. Majed Al-Daihani, Acting Vice President for Planning, along with all employees at OVPR, on Sunday, 8 December 2019, in the Conference Hall (119) at the Presidential Building.

On this occasion, KU President gave a speech praising the distinguished efforts made by the executive team at OVPR over the past four years where many successes and achievements have been attained in spite of constraints and obstacles. He also emphasized the value of the vital role that the OVPR plays through research committees, and raising research awareness at faculties through the events it holds periodically. Prof. Al-Ansari explained the importance of the Office of External Research Collaboration and Consultation activities, in addition to the role of annual research awards and incentives which have effectively contributed to the enhancement of scientific research at Kuwait University.

On his part, Prof. Jasem Al-Kandari thanked all efforts dedicated by the professors during their term, and praised employees at OVPR who have collectively formed a role model of the team work spirit by joining efforts to achieve an effective and distinguished work environment.

During the ceremony, the Institutional Innovation Center, under the Office of the Vice President for Planning was honored, comprised of Eng. Dana Bodai, Eng. Asmaa Al-Mutairi, and Ms. Rehab Al-Mutawa, for their effective role in facilitating the organization of training courses and workshops held by the Office of External Research Collaboration and Consultation. The team of Public Relations at Kuwait University, represented by Ms. Nadia Al-Rashid – Acting Director of Public Relations Department and Ms Al-Anoud Al-Rashidi – Director General of Exhibitions and Conferences Affairs, was also honored for their efforts in covering OVPR activities and events.

Employees from various departments at the Office of the Vice President for Research were then honored for their distinguished performance and their dedication in accomplishing their work duties as certificates of appreciation were distributed and commemorative photos were taken.
