The RS Receives a High-Ranking PAAET Delegation

Visit aims to explore opportunities for research collaboration and sharing research expertise

The Research Sector at Kuwait University received a research collaboration team from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) on Tuesday 2/7/2024, to discuss issues of common interest. The delegation was received by Dr. Naser Al-Tannak, Acting Vice President for Research, Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation, and Dr. Haneen Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for Research Finance and Implementation. The widely representative PAAET delegation included Dr. Nabeel Al-Khulaifi, Acting Director of the Research and Consultation Department, Prof. Abdullah Al-Mazrouei, Assistant Vice President for Academic Support Affairs, Prof. Bader Al-Shammari, Assistant Vice President for Applied Education and Research, Dr. Ala'a Al-Khalifa, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Nursing, Dr. Ali Al-Faili, and Dr. Hanouf Al- Hammadi.

The meeting started with Dr. Al-Tannak welcoming the members of the visiting delegation and emphasizing the importance of such meetings with academic institutions in Kuwait to achieve the desired progress in the R & D field. Then, Dr. Al-Khulaifi signaled that the PAAET is proud to have such a long-standing scientific and academic collaboration with Kuwait University since the PAAET signed a memorandum of understanding with Kuwait University in 2016.

The head of the delegation expressed PAAET’s desire to conclude an MOU between the two academic institutions and stressed the need to focus on aspects of collaboration relevant to scientific inventions and publishing, training of researchers and technicians, exploring scientific research areas of common interest, as well as organizing joint scientific conferences, seminars and workshops.

Accordingly, the parties agreed to schedule further meetings by coordinating with Prof. Noriah Al-Kandari in order to draft an MOU for research cooperation, scientific publishing, and other research activities between KU and PAAET consistent with their ambitions and future aspirations.
