The Research Sector participated in the enlightening meeting titled "Partners Initiative for Employment," which was organized based on the agreement signed between Kuwait University and the Human Construction Association for Social Development. The purpose of this agreement is to prepare a training plan for the Scientific Laboratory Technician Assistant Program, one of the projects of the "Partners Initiative for Employment." The meeting was organized by the College of Science at Kuwait University and sponsored by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, with valuable participation from the College of Engineering and Petroleum and the College of Life Sciences.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mai Al-Bader, Acting Vice President for Research at Kuwait University, Dr. Noura Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ben Sabet, Acting Dean of the College of Science, Ms. Afnan Al-Husseini, Assistant Undersecretary for the Educational Sector at the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs, Ms. Nada Al-Fares, Representative of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, and Engineer Awatif Al-Sulaiman from the Human Construction Association for Social Development. A large number of academic staff, supporting academic staff, and laboratory technicians from the College of Engineering and Petroleum, the College of Life Sciences, and the College of Science attended the meeting.
Earlier, Kuwait University signed a cooperation agreement with the Human Construction Association for Social Development to leverage the university's research, academic, scientific, and spatial capabilities to empower people with disabilities. In her welcoming speech, Dr. Noura Al-Kandari thanked the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences for their support of the project and their pioneering role in empowering scientific and developmental initiatives. She also addressed the disabled youth, saying: "Today, you are beginning a new journey at the highest academic institution in Kuwait, a step towards self-building, enhancing confidence, and acquiring the skills that will qualify you to actively contribute to the development of the nation. This project reflects our deep belief in your scientific capabilities. May God grant you success in all your endeavors."
An awareness lecture on safety and security procedures for the trainees was also delivered, and the enlightening meeting concluded with the distribution of symbolic gifts.
