As part of Kuwait University’s ongoing efforts, the Office of the Vice President for Research, in collaboration with the publisher Elsevier, organized a specialized training session presented by Mr. Amr Zahab, Regional Manager at Elsevier, and Mr. Mohamed Raed, Regional Advisor for Elsevier.

The event was attended by Dr. Naser Faisal Al-Tannak, Acting Vice President for Research and Chairman of the Scientific Publishing Council, Dr. Nouri Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consulting, Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Implementation, and Dr. Mohamed Al-Otaibi, Editor-in-Chief of "Afaq" journal. The session aimed to support researchers and faculty members in enhancing their performance and knowledge in the field of scientific research. It took place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Sabah Al-Salem University City.

The training covered how to explore research opportunities in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to identify the best scientific journals in terms of reputation and performance, while providing tips on avoiding questionable journals.
