The Research Sector at Kuwait University, represented by the Acting Vice Director of the University for Research, Dr. Naser Faisal Al-Tannak, the Assistant Vice Director for External Research Cooperation and Consultations, Prof. Noura Mohammed Al-Kandari, and the Assistant Vice Director for Research Funding and Implementation, Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra, in collaboration with the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy, hosted a seminar titled "Legal Dimensions of Biometric Fingerprints".
The event was held in the framework of international human rights agreements and national legislation. The seminar was sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, to discuss the legal and legislative aspects related to biometric fingerprints. The discussions included sessions with a select group of specialists from various related government sectors, aiming to enhance the safe and efficient implementation of this technology in alignment with social responsibility and the national vision.
Prof. Noura Al-Kandari emphasized that Kuwait University serves as a main platform for forging cooperation agreements and signing memorandums of understanding with various state sectors, solidifying its role as a hub that brings together diverse expertise and resources, enabling them to be leveraged to tackle challenges and obstacles in all their forms. She also praised the efforts of the Research Sector and Saad Al-Abdullah Academy representatives in organizing the seminar, which aims to raise security awareness in line with the university’s noble mission of serving and advancing.
