Research Sector organized a seminar titled "Prospects for Supporting Scientific Research: Research Grants and Capacity Building Programs,"

As part of the ongoing efforts to support scientific research and enhance research capabilities, the Research Sector, in collaboration with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, organized a seminar titled "Prospects for Supporting Scientific Research: Research Grants and Capacity Building Programs," held at the lobby of the Faculty of Science - South Campus.

The seminar featured a group of experts, including:
- Prof. Ali Boumgdad, Research and Technology Advisory Consultant.
- Dr. Abrar Al-Mousa, Director of the Research Capacity Building Division.
- Eng. Dina Al-Naqeeb, Director of the Research and Technology Activation Division.
- Eng. Mai Al-Otaibi, Grants Management Systems Engineer.

The seminar was attended by the Acting Vice President for Research, Prof. Mai Dawood Al-Badr, along with her assistants, Prof. Noura Al-Kandari, Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation and Consulting, Dr. Nasser Faisal Al-Tanak, Assistant Vice President for Research Development and Analysis, and Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra, Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Implementation, as well as a large number of researchers from the academic staff, supporting academic staff, and graduate students from various university faculties. Researchers from multiple institutions and government ministries also attended.

Prof. Noura Al-Kandari explained that the Research Sector is working diligently to provide diverse resources to support scientific research and enhance local and international research collaboration, contributing to the academic and research development at Kuwait University.

She also confirmed that this seminar is part of a series of initiatives by Kuwait University and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences to support scientific research.

Dr. Nasser Al-Tanak mentioned that the seminar supports researchers from Kuwait University and other scientific entities, highlighting how the seminar addressed the process of submitting research to the Foundation, with clear steps to streamline the submission of research projects and save time.

For her part, Dr. Suzanne Al-Bustan, Acting Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Research, and Graduate Studies, expressed her pleasure in hosting the workshop and seminar, which was coordinated by the Research Sector through the Office of External Cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences to present the methodology and mechanism of research support by the Foundation. She pointed out that this initiative aims to familiarize researchers in the Faculty of Science and other faculties at Kuwait University with the submission process to encourage them to apply for financial support from the Kuwait Foundation for research activities involving graduate students. She emphasized that holding such a seminar is a successful and important step, and the event included many discussions.
