Kuwait University Continues to Support its Inventors in the 15th International Invention Fair of the Middle East (IIFME)

The Research Sector took the initiative to invite researchers with patents registered in KU's name to take part in this highly regarded scientific event, where four academic faculty members participated with five patents, achieving several awards and medals that demonstrate their research excellence and innovation in their fields:

• Prof. Badar Shafaqa Al-Anzi received the gold medal with honors and the medal of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport.
• Dr. Nawaf Al-Juwaihel and his research team consisting of Dr. Nasser Al-Sayegh, Dr. Hussein Behzad, and Ali Al-Sayegh received the gold medal.
• Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Abdullah and his research team consisting of Eng. Sheikha Al-Masoud, Eng. Amina Al-Awadhi, Eng. Munira Al-Ghannam, and Eng. Asmaa Al-Anzi received the bronze medal.
• Dr. Yaqoub Abdulrahman Hashem and Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Shamasi received the silver medal.
• Dr. Nawaf Al-Juwaihel and his research team consisting of Dr. Nasser Al-Sayegh and Dr. Abbas Humoud received the silver medal.

The Research Sector also covered all financial costs related to their participation, emphasizing its commitment to support distinguished researchers and promote innovation across the academic community.

In a related context, the Research Sector nominated the participation of two patents for each of Dr. Mohammed Al-Ansari, College of Medicine, and Dr. Osama Al-Omair, College of Engineering and Petroleum, according to specific criteria in coordination with the Patents Office at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Their participation resulted in remarkable achievements with Dr. Mohammed Al-Ansari receiving the gold medal with honors and the WIPO Award for Kuwaiti Inventor, and Dr. Osama Al-Omair and his research team consisting of Eng. Christian Ozobiki and Eng. Ahmed Essam receiving the silver medal. These attainments underline KU's commitment to enhance the scientific research environment, stimulating innovation as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development while reflecting KU's prestigious status in scientific research on the local and international levels.
