Based on the directives of His Excellency Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Osama Mahous Al-Saeed, Acting President of Kuwait University, issued an administrative decision to form a specialized committee to study the proposal for including Kuwait University’s scientific journals in the global Scopus database. This decision was made based on the proposal submitted by Dr. Nasser Al-Tanaki, Acting Vice President for Research, and in accordance with Law No. (76) of 2019 regarding public universities.

The committee’s objective is to establish the necessary conditions and criteria for including the university’s scientific journals in the global database, improving their quality, and developing them according to international standards. Additionally, the committee will propose action plans to enhance their level to meet global requirements. It will also engage with the relevant authorities at Scopus to facilitate the registration and inclusion processes, alongside preparing a well-structured timeline to ensure efficient and effective inclusion.

This decision reflects Kuwait University’s commitment to enhancing its academic and research standing on the international level, aiming for greater competitiveness in the field of scientific research and elevating its reputation among global educational institutions.
