Collaboration with Elsevier company in academic publishing and discuss prospects for cooperation in developing scientific research

In the context of research collaboration and enhancing academic partnerships, the Acting Director of Kuwait University, Professor Osama Al-Saeed, received the Dutch Ambassador, Mr. Lawrence Westhoff, and a delegation from Elsevier, the leading academic publishing company. The visit was organized by the Acting Vice President for Research, Professor Mai Dawood Al-Bader, and attended by the Assistant Vice President for Research Development and Analysis, Dr. Nasser Faisal Al-Tanak, the Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Implementation, Dr. Hanin Shafik Al-Ghabra, the Assistant Vice President for External Research Cooperation and Consulting, Professor Nouriya Al-Kandari, the Global Director of the publisher, Dr. Young Suk (YS) Chi, and the Regional Director of Elsevier, Dr. Amr Dahab, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Sabah Al-Salem University City.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaboration with Elsevier, the leading Dutch company in academic publishing and information solutions, and discuss prospects for cooperation in developing scientific research. As part of the visit, the Vice President for Research Office, supported by Dr. Mohammed Al-Aloy, Executive Director of "Virtus" company, organized a scientific lecture presented by Dr. Young Suk (YS) Chi. The lecture highlighted the latest research solutions and academic tools provided by Elsevier in the fields of scientific research and academic publishing, focusing on how to utilize Elsevier tools to improve researchers' efficiency and support the university's strategies.

Dr. Hanin Shafik Al-Ghabra, the Assistant Vice President for Research Funding and Implementation, emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration with specialized global institutions, highlighting their pivotal role in advancing the academic and research ecosystem, and supporting the achievement of the university's goals in sustainable development and innovation.
